Steel framing has been used worldwide for over forty years. Rapidly accepted and used within the commercial sectors for construction, it is now being increasingly used in the residential sector as well. Steel framing has been well received by the construction industry, thanks to the speed and quality of construction and its improved acoustic and thermal performance.

Only 2.5% of European homes were built with steel in 2004. However in the US construction industry analysts project that one in four homes, built in the next five years, will be steel framed – Europe will rapidly be catching up. In the USA steel framing has increased by 300% in the last four years according to the Steel Framing Alliance.
